Day 1 of the Jazz Marathon 2024 presents a captivating evening featuring two exceptional performances by Marialy Pacheco & Rhani Krija Duo and Aires Tango as they showcase their unique musical languages and create a fusion of rhythms and cultures! Let Marialy Pacheco and Rhani Krija transport you to the crossroads of Cuba and Morocco, where melodies intertwine and harmonies blend in a symphony of innovation. Then, let Aires Tango immerse you in tango and jazz, as their music simultaneously showcases the style of Italian jazz. It will transport you to a musical world that combines the unique emotions of Argentina with the charm of Italian jazz.
Marialy Pacheco, a Cuban pianist with a unique and personal approach to the piano, will captivate you with her compositions infused with passion and creativity. Accompanied by percussionist and drummer Rhani Krija, whose authentic playing style blends Andalusian, Arabic, African, and Latin American rhythms seamlessly, the duo promises a performance that transcends borders and genres.
The second half of the performance is led by saxophonist and composer Javier Girotto, taking you on a journey of tango and jazz fusion with Aires Tango. Born in Argentina and rooted in Italy, Javier Girotto’s masterful saxophone playing, accompanied by Alessandro Gwis on piano, Michele Rabbia on percussion, and Marco Siniscalco on bass, blends traditional tango melodies with Italian jazz seamlessly. Together, they explore the rich musical traditions of Argentina while infusing it with the stylistic elements of Italian jazz.

The European Jazz Trio, on the other hand, explores the essence and inner beauty of each composition, using their diverse musical backgrounds to create a rich tapestry of European jazz.
First up is the Mozes Rosenberg Trio, led by the guitar virtuoso Mozes Rosenberg. Born into the illustrious Rosenberg family, Mozes’s musical journey began at a tender age, guided by the expertise of his father, Mimer, his brother, Stochelo, and his uncle, Waso Grünholz.
