The first artist recognized by Jazz People magazine as a “Rising Star” in both vocals and piano, Maria Kim, is coming to Hong Kong! Her captivating voice and exceptional piano playing have made her stand out in the Korean music scene, where she ranks first on the Jazz Chart. All six of her albums feature her own compositions, lyrics, piano playing, and singing, attracting many audiences with her unique interpretations and performances. Her album “With Strings: Dream of You” won the “Korean Music Award” and was included in the “Jazz Audio Disc Award” by the most prestigious Japanese jazz magazine, Jazz Hihyo (Jazz Critique). Her live album “Two for the Road” was nominated for “Best Jazz Vocal Album” at the 2023 Korean Popular Music Awards and was selected as one of the year’s top Korean albums by “Korea Daily News”. In 2023, she received the “Jazz Artist Award” at the 29th Korean Entertainment Arts Awards, becoming one of Asia’s most influential jazz artists. Maria Kim is currently on a world tour and will perform in Hong Kong this December alongside Ji Peng and Masahiko Osaka, with local guitarist Alan Kwan as a special guest. This performance is sure to be spectacular and is highly recommended for fans of jazz piano and vocals!
