Day Day Jazzy
Looking for something to do in a week? This year, “Jazz In The Neighbourhood” is recruiting a group of young people who are interested in jazz music and passionate about it. Spend a full week together during this summer holiday, attending classes, rehearsals, and performing, and have a blast with jazz! Four experienced instructors will condense the essence of jazz, teaching you more useful improvisation techniques, providing guidance during rehearsals and performances, and ensuring you have a fulfilling and memorable week! Jazzing everyday, keeps the doctors away. Gathering a group of jazz lovers, learn, play, rehearse and perform in one go!
Programme Introduction
Programme Period: 19-27 August 2023
Programme Fee：$3,000* (18 Hours Workshop + 4 Hours Rehearsal + 3 Hours Final Rehearsal +2 Days Concert)
* 20% off for HKYJC members ($2,400)
Enrollment Period: 17-31 July (Applicants should attend the audition* on 7 AUG, except for HKYJC members
* Please prepare a Jazz Standard, play along with your backing track and answer simple questions.

Workshop Details
Contents: 2-3 Hours per session, 18 Hours in total#
Venue: Sogno (LG/F, Kentucky Industrial Building, Kwai Chung)
Tutors: Lui Ngao-yuen、Almond Yeung、Scott Murphy、Eason YH Chan
# Workshops will be conducted in mainly in Cantonese, supplemented by English
Audition Details
Applicants are required to attend the interview on 7 AUG. HKYJC members are exempt from the interview.
Date: 7 Aug (Mon)
Time: 730PM – 1030PM (TBC)
Venue: Sogno (LG/F, Kentucky Industrial Building, Kwai Chung)
Content: Please prepare a Jazz Standard, play along with your backing track and answer simple questions.
1. Candidates are required to prepare a jazz standard of their own choice.
2. You will be asked to play along with your backing track.
3. Your performance should include the melody of the song and improvisation over the chord changes.
4. The backing track should be 3 to 4 mins in length.
5. 88-keys weighted Keyboard, Drum set, Guitar amp, Bass amp, Microphones, Music Stands and PA system will be provided on the audition day.
6. Please send us the backing track to info@jitn.org on or before 1 AUG.
*The audition time will be confirmed with you by email on or before 3 AUG.

Remarks:
– Concert duration is approximately 2 hours.
– Recommended for ages 6 and above.
– Audience is strongly advised to arrive punctually. Latecomers will only be admitted at a suitable break.
